The White Paper of the Forum on the Future of International Organizations

This white paper is the result of the work carried out as part of the Forum held at UNESCO House in Paris on March 13 and 14, 2026.

Over the course of a year, this initiative brought together Rotary International, 38 countries, 68 Rotary districts, more than 850 participants, as well as representatives from international organizations, government officials, academics, experts, and civil society actors.

Together, they shared their experiences and made recommendations based on a shared conviction: peace is the essential prerequisite for any sustainable action. Without peace, there can be no health, no education, no economic development, and no environmental protection.

This White Paper brings together the key recommendations resulting from this work. It is not a final report, but rather a tool for reflection and action designed to support Rotary clubs, districts, institutions, international organizations, associations, and all those who wish to work for the common good.

The Forum has come to a close. But the work is just beginning.

We invite every reader to make these recommendations their own, to build upon them, to share them, and above all, to translate them into concrete actions. This White Paper will only have true value if it inspires initiatives, fosters new partnerships, and helps strengthen peace.

Throughout its history, Rotary has demonstrated that committed men and women can contribute to major advances in our world. True to this legacy, let us pursue this goal together.

Actions change lives.
Ideas change the world.
Rotary has a duty to promote both.
